'Learning partners' are people who have the same target skills as you, so we hope you might want to learn together with them. You can manage learning partners on the Learn Together page (accessible via the left-hand menu).
Finding learning partners. Under 'Your Learning Partners', you should see a list of suggested partners -- i.e. the people in your organization with whom you share target skills. Below each person's name is a list of the target skills that you share (if you share more than three target skills, you can expand the list to see all of them).
Contacting learning partners. To request a contact with a learning partner, click 'Send request' next to their name. If they accept, you will see their name at the top of the Your Learning Partners pane, and you will have access to contact details that they have provided. If you receive a request from another learner, you will see it under 'Invitations from other learners' near the top of the pane, and you can choose to accept it. You can also break off the connection with a learning partner by clicking the 'Remove' button -- we hope that won't happen too often!
Being a learning partner for others. If you want other people to be able to discover you as a learning partner, turn on 'I want to be available as a learning partner' on the Settings page.
Working with learning partners. It's up to you how to work with learning partners once you have made a connection. For example, you could decide to arrange regular video chats to share your learning progress (we will soon be adding Skype integration), or just ask questions of each other by email. LearnerShape helps you make learning connections, then we leave it to your imagination how to use those connections. Something like the way learning used to be in the good old days before the Internet!
