LearnerShape provides you the opportunity to be a mentor to other learners for skills for which your skill level is 'advanced' or 'expert'.
Agreeing to become a mentor. To become a mentor, click 'Edit mentorships' in the 'Your skills' pane of your My Skills page. You can then toggle on mentorship for any of the skills listed under 'Skills you can mentor'.
Requests from mentees. Once you have agreed to be a mentor, you will see requests from mentors in the same 'Edit mentorships' window, under 'Mentee requests'. If you click 'Approve', you will be connected with the mentee and each of you will be able to see the other's contact details. We have intentionally disabled the ability for mentors to end connections with mentees, but you can ask a mentee to remove the relationship (if agreeable to both of you).
Working with a mentee. It's up to you how to work with a mentee once you have made a connection. For example, you could decide to arrange a video chat (we will soon be adding Skype integration), or just respond to questions by email. LearnerShape helps you make learning and teaching connections, then we leave it to your imagination how to use those connections. Something like the way learning used to be in the good old days before the Internet!
