Once you have defined target skills, you can choose courses:
using the Course Explorer
by asking LearnerShape to choose courses automatically
by selecting them from a learning pathway.
Course Explorer. To access the Course Explorer, click either (a) 'Add Course' on the My Courses page or (b) the 'Explore courses' button in the pop-up for any skill on the LearnerShape graph. The Course Explorer has five panes:
Explore. In this pane, you can use the toggle switch at the top to display a graph of either (a) all target skills or (b) focus skills (some of which may not be target skills). Click on any skill in the graph to display a list of courses that teach it, identified by the LearnerShape artificial intelligence (AI). To add a course to your My Courses page, click 'Add course'. Or you can learn more about the course by clicking 'More info' to view the course information pane, where you can also 'Visit' the course to check it out or make it a 'Favorite' (see below).
Search. This pane allows you to search the full course database available to you or your organization, using standard search technology rather than AI. You can search for any area of interest, not just for target and focus skills; and you can limit the duration and type of the courses that you see using the preferences at the top of the pane. The courses in the search results can be accessed exactly like those found via the Explore pane.
Favorites. If you want to save a course without adding it to your My Courses page, just make it a favorite (see Explore above). You can visit the Favorites pane to access all of your favorites, handling them just like courses found on the Explore or Search pane. The Favorites pane is also accessible with one click via the 'Favorites' button on the My Courses page.
Personal Courses. This allows you to add courses to the LearnerShape database. See Personal courses for more details. Your organization's administrators can choose to approve your courses for general use [link].
History. This pane displays your full learning history, including all courses that you have started or completed. The History pane is also accessible with one click via the 'History' button on the My Courses page.
Automatically Choosing Courses. To choose courses quickly, click 'Course recommendations' at the top of the My Courses page. This automatically chooses courses for each of your target skills (except those for which you have already chosen a course), and puts all of the courses onto your My Courses page.
Choosing Courses from a Learning Pathway. You can choose add individual courses from a learning pathway or the entire pathway to My Courses. See Using learning pathways for more details.
Adding Courses to Your Calendar. Once you have chosen courses, you can schedule any of the courses on your calendar. See Using the calendar for more details.
